If targeting low heat and maximum CPU life, then your lowest CPU speed target should be around 3.5-3.6GHz if that is fast enough for you. If you can keep it under 70C then then that is just perfect :). Maximum Tdie Temp is 80C but this is pushing it so 75C or less is recommended. It will give you good longevity plus a nice speed of 3.8-4.0 GHz. Since you seem to be new to this, here are some basic rules:ġ.38V should be your maximum voltage target. Lower voltage = less heat and more longevity, more speed = more heat but a faster system.

If no crashes, then you can either up your frequency or lower voltage based on your preference. To determine if your settings are truly stable: Both are excellent and totally free :).ĪIDA64 is also awesome in fact its the very best but it costs money after 30 days (trial) Its OK but I recommend Intel Burn test or Prime 95.

Just what the f.Įdit2: okey i just set a waaay too aggressive fancurve(lol), but i'm still concerned about the vcore fluctuation. Is this normal that idling, the temps so the fan curve is fluctuating?Įdit: hitting it with cpu-z makes the vcore rock solid stable. Any tipps? Why does it do this? Oh, MSI x370 Gaming Pro Carbon with r7 1700x Checking it in ryzen master, sometimes randomly spikes up to 1,45 volts for no reason. Now what i realized that my fan speed is going up and down and up and down. The other thing is while i was at it, i redid my cable management, and porperly plugged in fans (yes, the guy who did it at the service fucked something so basic up smh 2.0). Now i figured that it has some problem with my keyboard so shm. It beeps three times, then reboots, and everything is fine and dandy. Today morning, my computer started beeping, when booting. CPU is a 4790k, not overclocked.I have a few questions if you don't mind. The other thing I've tried is going to bios and looking at speed settings and they were all on normal, however what's odd is the entire time I'm in bios my CPU temps are 60 degrees or a bit above with fans pushing 1500.Įdit - I should mention I've had no crashes or performance issues.

Oddly I can replicate the spike by opening chrome and I get a spike for a couple of seconds m with the fan kicking up, other than this it looks random. Weirdly I find the idle temps of 25-30 degrees jumping to 40 or 50 mostly, and in some circumstances 60 or 65 and I'm seeing no high usage from anything above 2 or 3 percent when this happens. So I decided to do some digging, starting with opening task manager and monitoring CPU usage, also using real temp too. This would happen even if I didn't do anything for a while and was reading a web page. Noticed recently when browsing and not doing anything intensive I'll gear my CPU fan kick up to about 1500rpm for a few seconds then drop down to idle.
